All,

I have trawled through the previous club AGM minutes and guidelines and amended where i believe we are.
The last guidelines issued were way back in 2019

http://www.bigbashanglingclub.org.uk/index.php?topic=8176.0

Amendments made are to remove references to 2 x leagues, challenge cup, fishing past next peg, payments, number of pegs available and paying in t=in a timely manner, disciplinaries to name a few but i hope i have caught everything and we are up to date.

Please be in touch if i have missed something you believe should be included or added to many comments.

We are supposed to fish our matches on a friendly nature but we know how competitive everyone gets and people get giddy with excitement at times so it helps to have as few grey areas as possible/

Hello Leo : Thank you for this. Obviously some considerable work has gone into it.
If my memory serves me right there are some more recent guidelines published, but I can't find them.
I do recall that we changed them from "guidelines" , which are simply advisory, to rules, which are mandatory. Also I remember a debate which covered being able to cast beyond halfway if the far bank was unoccupied.
I suggest that they are titled Club Rules rather than summer league guidelines. They can then be applied to every match fished under the Big Bash Angling Club banner.
Club rules are vital for everyone's clarity, but ours are difficult to find. Can they at the very least be headed in bold capitals and pinned at the top of the forums menu/home page so they don't get lost?

Leo Martin

Hi Steve,

We originally used the word guidelines as some members way back in the beginning didn't believe we required anything at all.
The "guidelines" have since proved invaluable as they have came into play numerous times and indeed continue to evolve.
I think you are correct we did discuss at an AGM the need for change to rules title so there is no ambiguity. Consider done.

I tried to remember the casting past next spare peg discussion and summarise in the statements. If I have wording or interpretation wrong please advise everyone.

I used the forum search facility entering guidelines or AGM to research last night and collate together if it helps people look back for info.

We are an open club, no secrets and also democratic in our decision making.

When we get the document correct we will pin and post in relevant heading for ease of reference as well.

I'll update later when on laptop. Phone keys and fat fingers no good for that type of work.

Thanks again for the valued feedback.

In the guideline section

item 3 - just needs to be update to say anglers can fish to opposite bank if no other anglers are situated opposite, and disagreements on casting and boundaries need to be raised to a committee member immediately.

Rules updated as requested.

Guidelines replaced with heading Rules.
Casting across to unoccupied pegs on opposite bank also added.

Any more comments or feedback appreciated.

Gents

Can I point out under 1 and 11 under the rules.

As we are growing we need to be clear on these and any infringement needs pointing out immediately so can be investigated. A quip or comment at end of the match isn't really the right way to do things.

As we have always said you must familiarise yourself with the fishery rules before each match.

Going forward I will copy this and put in group chat, Facebook and on here. Any misdemeanours either intentionally or unintentionally can lead to arguments, disgruntled anglers and disqualification. Nobody especially the committee wants to be put in that position especially when we pride ourselves on being a friendly club.

Do these need to be updated after the AGM

i.e. - new rule - no riders after we have reached the 20 booked pegs.

Biggest fish money is now prize for the head to head league

loss of pegging fee deposit if drop out of match after the 7 days' notice or if not notified at all.

The charitable donation is out and any money outstanding goes towards club funds
