Rules update from 2025 AGM

2026 club rules

Club Fees
Summer league
£30 non-refundable annual club fee
£20 summer league fee
Match fee £21
Winter league (dependant on numbers joining)
£10 non-refundable annual club fee
£10 non-refundable league fee
Match fee £20
Club fees, match attendance, pegs booked and paid for and club finance to review at 2026 AGM if changes are required
Payments
Club membership is allowed without the need for League membership however League members will have peg allocation priority.
A League member must also be a club member
League payments to be received a week before the first match.
Guests
Guests are allowed to fish matches (where pegging allows) providing they pay the match fee.
A guest can fish no more than 3 matches Summer league and 2 matches winter league before they have to pay an extra fee and join the club.

General Rules
1.   Fishery rules will apply to all matches.
2.  Anglers can fish beyond next peg so long as they do not interfere with other anglers or go beyond halfway to other anglers peg.
3.     Anglers can also fish to opposite bank if no other anglers are situated opposite, and disagreements on casting and boundaries need to be raised to a committee member immediately.
4.   Keep-nets to be laid on bankside to expose to UV light until 15 minutes before match start when a signal will be made they can be put in water
Weigh ins to be conducted by nominated member except where fishery staff weigh in ie. Messingham sands.
5.  Scales to be read by same person throughout weigh in except for own peg.
6.   The Person running the match or a designated committee member to accompany the weigh in team and mark the sheet to try avoid any discrepancies.
7.   The weigh in should not start without the presence of the match organiser.
8.   Match times to be 10:00 to 16:00, prior to clocks changing 10:00 to 15:00 after unless exceptional circumstances
9.   If it deemed unsafe to fish by incremental weather (Storms. Lightening, high winds) a decision can be taken by the match officials as to cancellation or postponement of the match for a time period. If the match is cancelled all points will be void
10.   Any disputes in the match to be brought to the attention of a committee member as soon as noticed so they can try be resolved.
11.   Any member found to have brought the club name into disrepute can be dealt with by the committee
12    An appeals process to be introduced to any dispute decisions.
13.   Anyone caught or reported breaking rules before the match to be told of instant disqualification. Whilst allowed to fish the peg it would be pleasure only with weight and result not counting.
14.  Anyone accused of breaking match rules during or after the match will have the complaint logged
       The incident will be investigated after the match by the committee and accused be told of the results after the investigation has concluded.
       No prize money or points will be issued until the investigation is completed.
       The accused has the right to defend themselves and will be  invited to the investigation for input.
       The committees decision will be full and final.

Pegging allocation
1.   Match draws wherever possible will be on the Friday night live on Facebook preceding the match
2.   20 pegs have been booked for 2026 Summer . Note this number to be reviewed on 31st December following membership commitment with a view to contacting fisheries  to ask if 20 pegs be reduced to 15 ( Grange Park an exception as whole lakes booked for16 / 20 pegs). On winter league matches 10 pegs are booked.
3. 2027 season 15 pegs booked at all Fisheries (exceptions being Grange park Sherwood Forest)
4. Members are requested to commit to joining the club by December 31st to help committee members contacting fisheries re reducing the 20 peg numbers booked down to 15.
5.   The match organiser will try increase the 15 pegs if able to do so by contacting the venue before each match if required so extra pegs can be offered
6.   If unable to increase the number of peg's then the pegs will be issued on a league members priority and first paid on first served basis.
Note The club recognises this is not ideal but the only way to ensure an efficient way of managing the situation as the posting of the matches are well in advance of the dates. It is in everyone's interest to regularly check the forum and pay on in a timely manner.
7.     No riders after 20 pegs in the match number has been achieved
8.     Riders to not be added to match list any earlier than Sunday before Friday draw
Disabled
1.  If park behind peg then disabled angler draws out of hat, no preference to pegs and helper to take next peg up.
2.    If not park behind peg then 1st two pegs are to be given next to car park
Novice
      1.  Novice to draw and helper to have next peg up. If end peg drawn.
2.   If either draw an end peg then helper to have next peg down.

Both of above to draw out of hat first, before other members


League points
1.    League points to be awarded on section basis
1st in section receive 1 point
2nd in section receive 2 points etc.
2.   If there is a 6 man section then 5th place and 6th place will both receive 5 points. If there are 4 man sections then the    maximum number of points earned in 5 man section will be 4.
25 anglers = 5 x 5 sections
24 anglers = 4 x 5 and 1 x 4 section
23 anglers = 3 x 5 and 2 x 4 sections
22 anglers = 2 x 5 and 2 x 6 sections
21 anglers = 3 x 5 and 1 x 6 sections

3.   If a person does not turn up to fish he will receive 8 points

4.   All anglers are to be encouraged to weigh in.

5.   Anglers who fish whole match but don't catch, lowest weight section points.

6.   Anglers who fish match, catch and don't weigh in to receive lowest weight section points +1

7.    League winner will be the person at the end of the season with the lowest points.
If there is a tie on points it will be down to total weight across all league matches from the season

8.   Summer league 3 worse scores can be dropped. (Note mystery pairs will not count)
     Winter League 2 worse scores dropped.

9.   All matches to count towards league points including Ferrets and rod only match, they will not count 2nd day event match, and team matches.

10.   2nd day of two day event to be run as mystery pairs match with pairs drawn at end of match. 2026 2nd day match to also be rod only
