Following the vote it seems like we are reasonably close to the minimum number of 6 required to arrange a knock up ( taking into account those who don't go on forum)

Anyone available for a friendly knock up on Wednesday 24th September?

Big Bash Wrinkly knock up 19 Lindholme Bonsai Outer 24.9.25

Car temperature was 6,5 degrees when I got in it this morning and early morning mist was rising off the fields in the sunshine. Autumn is coming in fast.

8 wrinklys awaiting in the Lindholme café and we welcomed Anthony Cranswick into the fold. All paid on and the draw bag circulated ( thanks Woolfy) with peg 36 left in the bag for yours truly, very happy with that as Alex Dochety won the lake off it yesterday with 56lb, I guess the words different day and even more so different angler spring to mind when you see the results!

Bonsai outer from 14 to 48 was ours for the day with 8 anglers, loads of room for everyone and the best pegs kindly selected by Alex for us.

Peg 36 is on roadside and has open water in front with an island point each side to chuck to. Also with no one next door, there was the left hand point of the island to my left to chuck to as well.
Set up bomb rod, method, pole lines for paste and pellet, also margin line to my left at 2+1 near some reeds.
All in shouted by Mr Lanelly and first chuck caught island to my right, great lost everything. Set up again and re-chucked and sat and waited for action. 30 minutes no signs at all 3 locations, micros, yellow, pink and red wafters and fishery pellets tried. Swapped to bomb and using 8 and 6mm pellets rotated casting positions for no bites or liners, no indications at all. Pole lines tried but nothing there, it wasn't looking good.

12:15 and wrap round, fish lost must have been foul hooked as came back with a scale. 3 more bites in next 15 minutes, 2 missed as slight taps, one hooked but it went round back of island.  More rotation of lines and finally 13:15 first fish landed, quickly followed by a second, then nothing again. Rest of match, 3 more bites on bomb one hook length breakage,, one more round back of island and one into the shrubs mid point along island to my left.  All gone.
I went in margin at 3:15 trying to save grace and 2 small ish carp and 2 more hook pulls from these to wrap my day up nicely with 11-4.

Peg 14 Mr Lanelly  46-9 section win. All caught on yellow wafter on method to point of island to his left except 2 x lumps ( 19-10)  caught on maggot on short line in margin to his right.

Peg 17 Steve Guy 23-13 caught on maggot on pole

Peg 24 Nigel Cooke 29-3 all caught on maggot on pole

Peg 28 John Utting 46-11 match win. John was struggling until 2:39 then switching to maggot had a good run of fish to achieve his weight. Well done John

Peg 36 Leo 11-4, should have tried maggot

Peg 40 Anthony Cranswick 18-14 and a baptism of fire with the bashers. Most of fish caught on bomb rod to point of island to his left, numerous foul hooked fish lost as well as landed. Well done for sticking it out.

Peg 44 Mick McGlann 2 fish caught but DNW as needed to get off.  Hardest match Mick has fished for a while, well done for sticking it out.

Peg 48 Andy Woolfall 29-0 Section win. Andy struggling for bites so went onto his favoured worm approach and ended up with a mixed net of carp, F1s, a couple of nice Tench and a Barbel. Well done mate.

Weather wise it was a lovely Autumn Day, some sunshine, times overcast and cloudy, very little breeze but dry. It also ended up at 15 degrees and sunny.  Makes a change from last 2 matches where we got drowned.  The lads who fished Laurels also said it was difficult on there so maybe the dip in temperatures didn't help. Still, it was a nice day out on Bonsai in the fresh air, and with good company.

Many thanks for the help off everyone weighing in and to Mr Lanelly for his timekeeping.

Next match Big Bash summer league at Barnburgh Middle Lake Saturday 27th.
