Hi Kev,

Its what was available at the time bookings were placed all things considered. Availability, peg numbers required, Pegging costs, park behind pegs etc.

This is why Jasper has forwarded me the dates for 2027 so I can start the process earlier (in the next few weeks) before other clubs book everywhere up.

Note
If anyone has suggestions for 2027 venues please add them below as it may help

At the 2024 agm members suggested Hayfield and Aston Waters.

Perhaps a silvers only match somewhere like Messingham island or swan may good for a change.

Hi Steve,

I am due to start  phoning around for the 2027 venues in a week or so ( may be next week if it rains a lot) to try secure some of the venues missed out on recently. Similarly now we a match club of the smaller size, we can look at smaller venues such as Torne bank etc and reduce the peg numbers to keep financially viable.

If anyone has venue / lake  suggestions for 2027, please post asap so I can try include.

Hayfield , is it park behind pegs on both lakes, is there any preference? Ive never been.
Aston, which lakes are park behind you peg on this venue, its years since I fished it and it was a bit like a pole knitting club on the arm we were pegged upon as well as very close pegging.

Have looked at the Kiveton / Embryo waters and there looks to be a lot of pegs barrow jobs. Is this true? is there a specific lake where you can park behind your peg?

All helpful advice appreciated as always.

I've got my Aston and Kiverton mixed up. The venue suggested at the agm was Kiverton waters, also know as embryo water's. Never fished it myself but heard good reports. You can park behind every peg. There's a video on YouTube, I will try to find it.
Hayfield- best for parking behind pegs is the island lake, the one that was used for Fish O finals. The pegs on river bank are usually the better ones.

All,

A request was made at the AGM for a change from Bank End West Lake due to the peg access off the high banks of the roads down too water level.
After numerous phone calls to various fisheries to try offer an alternative venue to the current listed bookings I have fianaly managed to  secure a different fishery.
It is Sherwood Forest fishery on Holmedale lake and we have 15 pegs booked on the roadside of the lake which gives us the full roadside bank. This is a drive down the lake in peg order and drop off your tackle so no walking or barrows required.
The lake is being stocked next week with loads of 1lb to 3lb carp and also early next year as a £5000 investment.

Bank End west lake is now cancelled as well.
