BIG BASH AC 2021 AGM Microsoft Teams 19.11.2021

Attendees
Chair Jasper, Andy, Glen, Joe and Scott, John, Keith ( in camouflage and silence), Kev, Max, Mick Roche, Paul Whitehouse,  Steve Curtis, Leo and a Special guest appearance Lord Mike McDodd.
Good turnout, thank you guys

Item 1
Committee members, any extra volunteers?       No.  Note this may have to be revisited depending upon Leo & Jaspers availability going forward due to our circumstances

Happy with existing committee to carry on?       Yes.

Item 2
Any complaints in the year around the club?       No

Item 3
Rules: Is everyone familiar with the rules of the club, especially the new guys? Are there any changes required? The rules are on forum, please read and digest.

Question, clarification on fishing / casting past next peg if unoccupied especially if using a rod.
Yes you can providing you do not "interfere" with anyone else, even across a lake as well. NOTE fishery rules ( such as Grange) will always overrule / outstrip Big Bash rules on the day.

Item 4
Increased pegging fees . At least 4 local fisheries have notified the club their prices are being raised in 2022. This can impact pay-outs / funds if our match fee does not follow suit.       Short discussion and the overall view was to raise match fees by £1 per match (22 in total). This will cover the fisheries who are raising their fees and lakes like Springvale and Grange who currently are at £7.00 cover the difference across the season it is believed.

Item 5
Live Draw on Friday or return to Saturday morning draw?     Keep the Friday night Facebook line draw.

Item 6 and 8
Venue bookings for 2023 not made as yet as it was requested for more park behind peg venues . Discussion held, try where possible for the book behind peg venues, Messingham Sands, Grange, Lindholme selected lakes, Springvale, Lodge Farm where possible but recognise some limited venues- lakes we may have to accept a short walk.
Request to also reduce the 8 matches at Lindholme further.

Item 7
Club communications and social media. Currently Forum (Approx £30 fee) Facebook and WhatsApp are in use. Everyone happy or want a change?       Remain as is, all have uses and WhatsApp been a big benefit for quick messages.

Item 9
Membership numbers.       19 2021 summer league members have asked to reapply, 6 guests also asked to apply . As a club we are thankful for the 6 guests who have attended quite a lot of matches in 2021 when we had short numbers. All in agreement the membership numbers opened up to 25 for 2022.
Discussion on number of pegs per match and all in agreement to remain at 20 booked. If more wanting to fish then ask if fishery will release more pegs as this was successful in 2021.
Please note there is a rule in case we cannot increase peg numbers first paid on get the match.

Item 10
Afternoon match
Retain one match again as "2021" for a change".

Item 11
Later starting time of matches 10-30       Feeling as to remain the same with 10:00 start

Item 12
Pre-Payment of matches      withdrawn as pegs retained at 20 as per item 9
Discussion on summer league payout,
A.   The £10 pre season pegging fee if a no show,
B.   Adjusting pay-out to include a biggest fish payment.
C.   As a democratic club and with a lot of members not on the AGM decision to add a forum vote to cover these items off.

Item 13
Club Finances
2021 Balance sheet published on forum
Approx £650 in club funds, very positive position

Item 14
Challenge match proposal with another club
Proposal to approach "Old Boys" club who fish varied and local venues similar to Big Bash. See if there is an appetite for a home and away match series of 15 anglers to fish on Saturdays no league match is planned. Everyone enjoys the team matches and what they bring in difference to standard league matches.

Item 15
Vacant Saturday in 2022 season, proposal to fish an alternative type of match.
A.   Natural venue
B.   Rod only
C.   Float only
D.   Silverfish only
E       standard match
Decision to put to forum vote as to everyone's opinions

Club Clothing
Everyone happy with the Black and Yellow colour scheme   Yes
Everyone happy with the clothing quality      Yes
Item list is available with up to date prices for those of us who has lost weight and the clothes are too large or those who want to purchase new. The list will be posted on the forum and WhatApp. Please be in touch with Jasper or Steve Guy with requirements.

Just a couple of points Leo,fishing to next peg at grange is only a rule for opens not club matches, also both grange and springvale are £8 next year

Hi Steve,

Thanks for the clarification.

There is also another vote to be posted so all members have the chance to influence the result and matches next year, this is the proposal to start matches at 10:30 and not 10:00am. all votes will be posted over the next day or so.
