Big Bash Legends weekend Mystery pairs Lindholme Bonsai Arm 8.6.25

Sunday weather forecast again thunderstorms on the agenda for Sundays match, could we be lucky for a third day of our extended weekend. 11 names in the wheel of fortune (or doom) live draw on Saturday night and pairs also drawn out as well. This time the App worked and we were able to do it on line😊.

Early morning start for the Mallard gang and we were able to pick our end of arm parking spaces to position our cars before Chef Indians breakfast. Just one of the perks of sleeping over on site, to those not yet converted try it next year.

The wind was blowing a lot harder than it had and directly into those who had drawn to face the tackle shop. Those on  the bank facing the lodges it was to their backs, which although annoying, nothing like the lads who had it head on. No rain as such although cloudy and overcast.

The lake was fully matched up with anglers all the way around the outer and to 59 on the arm.

Peg 75 was my home with my  partner John darkhorse Utting close by on 72. Peg 75 has a gap between two islands directly in front of it. With 73 and 74 not in this offered a sedge lines island chuck, and 76 not in I could chuck part way along the island to my right. Tackle choice today, hybrid feeder, bomb rod and pole lines at 2+2 and deep margin to my right in front of a cut down tree stump.
Started on bomb, 4mm pellet, then 6mm pellet and finally yellow washter to gap between islands. Switched to hybrid and 5mm yellow washter then pink before tip went round and first fish, took a couple more from here but action was slow to having primed 2+2 maggot line.  Bite and fish first drop in, and also second then they went. 20 minutes later 2 more bites and a fish, another gap then a small skimmer. Chucked method back out with pink wafter to gap and a few more fish. Back on pole line for a F1 then more skimmers. Long gap then on the bite front so kept rotating, word from my partner to chuck to sedge line along the island, tried this and this resulted in a 5lb carp, tried again for a 4lb F1 then nothing. Kept rotating and tried margin on paste, pellet but nothing. Back to sedge line for a couple more and moved along sedges but then smaller F1s. Time blew and a disappointing 32.12 for Leo.

Peg 62 Andy Waite 41.15 and must have been bored as seen stood up several times to have his cigs.

Peg 64 Indian 57.13

Peg 66 A hungover Joe "no end peg" Martin 93.13 and a busy day on rods and also in margin

Peg 70 John Lanelly 88.9 and another busy day catching on rod, pole lines in front and also margins.

Peg 72 John Utting 50.1. early on rod to gap then switched 2+2 on maggot , changed back to method to island up against sedges to his right and finally margin in front of 73 platform, dead reds and corn.

Peg 75 Leo 32.12

Peg 77 Scott Barker 24.5. a couple across to the gap between the two islands in front then his best result came from  method on pole to his margins and better stamp of fish. Scott was coaxed and coached to try chuck to the snags between his islands where everyone said the match winning fish were holed up but chose his own route. I am sure if he was to fish again he would chuck closer to the snags 😊.

Peg 79 Tracey Benson 58.14 after driving home from Saturday to drive back for the pairs match. Well done sir.

Peg 81 Paul Whitehouse 42.6

Peg 83 Woolfy 44.0

Peg 85 Steve Curtis 143 .1 majority from his favoured paste again.

Pairs scores were
First place and match win  Tracey Benson and Steve Curtis 201.15 well done

Second place Joe Martin and Andy Waite 135.12,well done

3rd place Paul Whitehouse and John Lanelly 130.15

4th Place Woolfy x 2 88lb

5th place John Utting and Leo Martin 82.13

6th pairing was Kev Indian Webster and Scott Barker 82.2 who received some Miracle Baits expanders.

Difficult day in the cold wind and we did receive a couple of showers but nothing exceptional or as suggested by our friends the weather man. It looked like the other match were catching in some pegs but not others, so I guess a hard day for all. Big Bash AC total weight 674 lbs for 11 anglers on the day.
20 pegs booked and paid for this one and 11 booked on, many thanks to those 11 anglers who attended.
Thanks also to John Lanelly for his timekeeping, to Steve Curtis weighing in again and everyone else helping out each other where they could.

Next club match is Hollywood Bowl with 16 pegs booked. This report is a little late so thank you to all confirmations and paid on to date.
