I know this will cock up your working out but rather than £9 pools why not make it £10? It will save messing about with lots of change.

Big Bash Wrinkly Knock up 17, Lindholme Laurels Oasis side 27.8.25

With the weather on the turn, sightly lower temperatures, a brisk breeze and rain late afternoon forecast, 7 wrinkly bashers were in attendance for the Wednesday knock up on Laurels. Oasis bank had been selected for the park behind your peg reasons. Due to a couple missing paperwork and pegs adjusted accordingly and the draw bag circulated, and eager hands dipped in and it was off to the lake at a timely 8.15.

Nice to have Mick McGlann out with us again and also to see he now has a short pole to learn to fish with. Steve Guy giving him help in setting it up today, I am sure everyone will also assist Mick with his Pole fishing learning process.

Peg 9 Dave Fox, not happy with his draw but managed to eeek out a section win with 47-4. Struggled to understand how he only a couple out of his margin whilst Mick next door was able to catch from his.
Peg 11 Mike Roche fished pellet waggler early on then moved into his margin to catch 67-10 and win the match, well done
Peg 14 John Lanelly fishing with legs exposed, caught 46-12 on numerous lines. Some good and some lean spells on bomb however later on caught well from his margins.

XXXX

Peg 16 John Utting who had a very lean start with no bites all time for first hour or so. He then had 6 fish in 30 minutes on his bomb rod to bring out his smile before another lean period. John rotated his lines, going to margins swims each side and then he sussed something out.  Bomb rod, 2 fish then go in margins. The margin fish were a much smaller stamp of skimmers, F1s and carp. 20 or 30 minutes, back on bomb rod 2 more carp then rest again and in margins. This worked well for John to catch 49-4. He also had a nice surprise Barbel from his margin on paste as well.
Peg 18 Leo. Plan was as per previous visits bomb rod with 8mm pellet, Paste at 2+2 and also a margin line below tree to my left. I also had method set up for long chuck to far island. First chuck and first fish of match award to Leo with a 5lb carp on 8mm pellet. A second one followed 30 minutes later but that was the only 2 fish I landed on this line. Bomb was chucked in open water, to island to my right and also long. Nothing on method to far island, or late on shirt under my 2+2 line. The fish I caught were on paste on 2+2 line and under the tree to my left. Much smaller stamp under the tree, better stamp on 2+2 however the fush were skimmers and not the heavier carp I needed. 36-12 for my sins.
Peg 20 Mick McGlann who weighed in 18-11. Started of on bomb to island and had some good runs of fish. Then after priming margins went on the short pole where he managed to snare a few as well. Well done Mick.
Peg 22 Steve Guy. Fished a tidy match, chucking bomb to island in front, long pole and then short pole and margin. Swapped and changed when bites dried up and weighed in 51-4 for a section win.  Well done Steve, please replace the damaged keepnet before you do a Smiler with it.

Everyone caught a few in a relatively equal match, weather kind and despite a couple short showers we didn't get too wet.

Thank you to John Lanelly for timekeeping. Many thanks to everyone who helped with the weigh in.

Next Big Bash match is at Grange Park on the inform Heron Lake, loads of room and places available for Guests if you fancy joining us.

Next Wrinkly knock up 17th September at Springvale, again please be in touch if you fancy joining us.
