Title: Question
Post by: Leo Martin on February 17, 2025, 19:11:00
Guys, a few years ago we used to travel to the Glebe fishery once a year for a knock up . It was a long drive and long day but I think  everyone who went looked for ward to it.

Is there any appetite in the club to try see about resurrecting this match at either Glebe or a.n.other similar fishery?

Your views, ideas and options gratefully received.

All dependant if we can get in anywhere and the match may have to be a midweek one? You dont know unless you ask

I enjoy these days, always nice to go to some cracking waters and Glebe is up there with one of best.
Always fancied a day at Barston, cudmoore, pocklington.... Or go over night and do a double with 2 venues close to each other. Fish one b&b and then next day fish next venue...

Yes for me Leo, might be good to put on other forums as I don't think all use the official one as they should

Don't mind a drive to somewhere different and a bit special.

Glebe results were comparatively poor. But it is a nice venue. Still the best days fishing I have ever had. When I booked the matches it was with Roy Marlow who has since passed away. Strictly speaking it is members only. I wasn't involved in the last visit there but I understand it was a bit of a disaster.

Two day job, wouldn't work for me personally.

Places that we hear about but don't fish, like Tunnel Barn, Partridge, Westwood Lakes, I wouldn't mind trying.

Up Thirsk way are the excellent Oaks at Sessay and Woodland Waters. And don't forget John L has requested a return trip to the prolific Jansons, south of Newark.
