2020 AGM meeting venue
There have been some really great ideas and topics raised i the questions section for the AGM meeting this year and I think we are doing great in timings as there is still plenty of time before the end of our Summer League.
There is a slight problem however in that the rule of 6 is now in force and this prevents us holding our AGM in the usual format where we meet either in a room, pub or location and gather in a group as we have done so the last few years.
The AGM meeting I believe is also etremely important this year with the committee changes so far and in the near future top of the agenda list.
The question to discuss for all members is how do we believe we hold the AGM when we are unable to meet together face to face in a group above the number 6?
Does the AGM get delayed until after COVID 19 dissappears ( there is no timescale on this virus)
Do we utilse technology and use one of the social media meeting sites to hold the meeting. Microsoft Teams or Zoom are good ones and free to set up and easy to use.
Any other ideas?
99% of our members have internet access and a COVID friendly AGM via Microsoft Teams or Zoom could be a much better option than no AGM at all. For those who have not used or expeience in using these methods they really are simple and easy to use.
Please post your input or questions below to help move this forward
Sounds good Leo , maybe ask how many would / could attend a AGM as if numbers are low then this could go ahead as normal .
If not in comes the Tech
Following on from Max suggestion below, we have held the last couple of AGMs directly after a match and had great attendances with most members present.
Prior to this we tried mid week evening AGM meetings and I think the best attendances were about 8 or 9 people who could make them. Views were passed on beforehand for the discussions at these sessions.
Please post your names below if interested in attending the AGM meeting and we can take it from there.

The 2020 AGM is proposed to be held using the COVID safe technology of the internet. There have been 3 practise sessions held to date to try give everyone a chance to log on and sample the meeting technology available. Two sessions have been held using Microsoft Teams and one session using Zoom. To date we have had a good show out with between 7 or 8 on each meeting session. some guys have worked at the logging on and been successful, some guys still struggling and more practise required. People are using laptops, PC's, I Pads, and phones to take part. Smoke signals and pigeons have failed to connnect.
These meeting methods are actually very good and have enabled many of us to continue our jobs working from home during the COVID situation. you can share documents, pictures etc and it is just a case of adapting to a new method of meeting and discussing with people instead of face to face. Lot better than long plane journeys as well.
We are holding a last practise meeting session this coming Friday 23rd at 19:30 and it will be held on Zoom again. Those on the session will choose which medium they want the AGM to be held on as they have will had a chance to see both Teams and Zoom and which they prefer.
The Zoom meeting invite for Friday will be posted on the forum. all you have to do is simply cut and paste the link into your Google chrome or internet explorer page and it will take you to the invite.
You can practise logging on before Friday even if you wish it will just say meeting not started or you are in the lobby / waiting room to be invited in. main thing is you give it a try in advance of Friday if not sure.
The main AGM will date and time will be decided after our last match and although we cannot please or suit everyone we will try hold a popular day / time in the midweek. Yes we know Emmerdale and Coronation street are on the tv but the clubs AGM is important and a chance for the membership to take part in the club decision making.
Any sensitive or contentious subjects at the AGM will be brought back to the forum for a vote if required as we are aware not everyone will be able to attend. all we ask and request is you try and log on and make it.
The agenda is well populated and has had a lot of good input, thank you. Similarly the request for members in 2021 is also filling up nicely and reassuring to see the numbers to date supporting the club.
Any views or comments please mention below and we will try and help if possible

Last practise session held on Friday 23rd with 6 in attendance.
So far we have held 4 sessions and had between 6 and 8 visitors in each session, a lot of the guys are the same people however but at least this gives us a good representation for the AGM to be held in safety and within the current COVID guidelines. After discussions the media chose for the AGM was ZOOM and it will be held either November 3rd or 4th at 19:00. This to be confirmed closer to the date.
Previous invites will be deleted so as to avoid any confusion for any who wish to join us.
AGM topics to discuss so far are:-
1 - Committee members - roles / responsibilities /
