On the Friday heron side was ice free and part of other side so with no frost forecast was hoping for ice free pond as kingfisher side had been catching a few on feeder and pole was slow, woke up to one of the hardest frosts so far so arrived to a fully iced over pond.Broke the ice to 13m it was about 20mm thick so no chance of it melting during the day, pole and maggot at 13m it was,had a couple of early fish then struggled most of the day,our side fished rock hard, but at least there was no blanks,I had 6 smallish carp 2 f1s and a few bits, enough to win section which was a surprise as peg 11 had been fishing well but don't think smashing the ice helped it much up the margins  on that peg.Opposite side faired better as they were fishing better on the pole line.Well done to all on a difficult day.On Sunday it was ice free again just our luck, and peg 11 won with 63lb peg 9 2nd 56lb that's winter fishing.

Well done Gav on the match win, guys who pocketed  brown envelopes  and to everyone else for sticking it out in what looks like a day where the draw was key. Winter fishing seems to be well and truly here and jaspers wheel of doom a major player in the event,

Thanks Steve for the write up, really appreciate these and nice to read how you got on for those not able to join you.
